PEERS® (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) for Young Adults (Ages 18-30+) York Region

Psychologist, Kevin Reinhardt, Director of Clinical Services at PsychologyService.ca and the Team at PsychologyService.ca, is proud to offer a PEERS Group for Young Adults (PEERS YA) in Spring/Summer 2025!

A 16-week evidence-based social skills communication and cognitive beliefs intervention for verbal, average or above average IQ adults and their ‘Coach’ (supporting individual to help you practice and learn the skills, a parent, sibling, spouse, etc.).

If you are interested and motivated to learn skills to:

  • Communicate naturally/effectively, identify common interests, make appropriate friends, maintain friendships, or develop and maintain romantic/dating relationships-
  • Learn to change your beliefs and behaviors regarding communicating, socialization, friendships and relationships-
  • Achieve success socializing, in the community, school or work!

WHEN and COST: Weekends or weekday evenings, times and dates TBA (16 weekly sessions of 1.5 hours each at $100/session) for each client and each coach.

As participation in this program constitutes therapeutic mental health services delivered by a psychologist, and fees paid may be eligible for health insurance coverage through workplace or student benefit insurance plans under, “services of a psychologist”. Check with your plan administrators. Out of pocket expenses can be added to the medical expenses deduction on the federal government tax form. For students enrolled in postsecondary, this cost may be an eligible expense under the Bursary for Students with a Disability (BSWD). Contact your educational institution.
